
Why buy it when you can easily make it. Homemade pierogis that taste divine!
– 2.5 -3 cups flour
– Pinch of salt
– 1 tsp avocado oil
– 500 ml water, boiled but use when warm
– 1 egg yolk
– blueberries or strawberries
– a splash of lemon juice
– sprinkle of sugar
In bowl mix blueberries, lemon juice, and sugar. Put aside.
Sift flour into pasty board
Make a well in the middle and add pinch of salt and oil, mix with a knife
Add warm water and gradually mix in flour into it, continue mixing with a knife
After combining flour with water (about 300-350 ml), check if the dough isn’t warm before adding the egg yolk
Add yolk and continue mixing with knife until combined
Then knead with hands (about 10 min) until dough is soft, elastic and not sticky
Divide the dough in half
Place one half of dough in a bowl covered with a towel so it doesn’t dry out
Roll out the other half to a thickness of 2 mm
With cookie cutter, cut out 3.25″ discs
Place a spoonful of fruits into each disc and form a dumpling
Boil until they float to the top of water
Serve with sour cream
