Adding extra flavor by incorporating vanilla custard powder elevates the cookies!

– 1 cup (150 g) flour
– 3 TBSP sugar powder (must be sifted)
– 4 TBSP vanilla custard powder (budyn waniliowy w/o sugar, proszek)
– 113 g butter (1 stick), chopped in small pieces, cold
– 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 TBSP cold water, optional
– jam

In the bowl sift flour, sugar powder, and vanilla custard. Mix until combined.
Add butter and mix in traditional way with a knife and then mix until combined into one smooth dough (or use a hand mixer).
If dough is not coming together, add cold water.

Place the flattened dough in plastic wrap and in fridge for 1-2 hrs.

Prepare the baking sheet with parchment paper

Remove the dough from fridge and form in desired shape leaving room for jam

Place the cookies/dough on parchment paper and put back in the fridge for 15-20 min

Bake at 350 F for 20-22 min, until they start gaining color on bottom

Remove from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes and then add jam on top

Then sprinkle powdered sugar on top

Store in the closed container, not in fridge
